Overview
Dar Dar Dar is calendar for shows occurring in San Francisco and the East Bay. Our goal is to be as comprehensive as possible for weird and small-ish shows. Anybody is welcome to submit an event; submissions are encouraged and highly appreciated.
As of July of 2009, we do not actively seek information regarding shows with door fees greater than $12; however, submissions for such shows are greatly appreciated and will continue to be posted to the site.
The site was created by Hunger and launched in January of 2009, with listings for February and March of 2009. The site’s name was derived from the last three letters of the word “calendar.” Conveniently, “dar” is also the last syllable of “radar.” And, in French, “dare dare” means “quickly.” Dar Dar Dar should be pronounced so that it rhymes with “bar bar bar.”
Dar Dar Dar is proud to be an open software service.

To comment on a listing (e.g., “This show sounds rad!”) — or to correct or update a listing — click on the speech-balloon icon (
); note that the icon appears differently (
) when there are comments to read (the number of comments also appears next to the icon, in parentheses).
To “heart” an event, click on the heart icon (

To look for similar shows, click on the search icon (
). A list of keywords will appear directly below the listing; click on the keyword you’d like to search for.
To share or save an event, click on the copy icon (
). A list of options will appear directly below the listing; select the one you’d like.

Licensing
The listings are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license. You are welcome to copy and paste our entire listings to your own site, but if you do, please link back to us and the license. Something like this would suffice: “Listings provided by Dar Dar Dar under a Creative Commons Attribution license.” No attribution is necessary if you are only using a few of our listings (say less than 10).
